The human inside the service

Meet your
archivist.

Software can organize. It can't sit with your mother and ask the right question at the right moment. That's why every Archive Year comes with a real person — the archivist who scans your boxes, curates your archive, and knows your family by name.

What your archivist does

The work no app
can copy.

Your archivist is a trained professional who works alongside you all year — not a data-entry service, a relationship. Included in every Archive Year:

  • Every memory box you send, opened on camera, scanned at archival quality, and returned — the shoeboxes you've been meaning to get to for years, handled by someone who does this for a living.
  • Thoughtful curation as the archive grows — names, dates, and stories attached, so browsing feels like discovery, not a filing cabinet.
  • The questions nobody thought to ask. Your archivist reviews what arrives and flags the gaps: the unnamed faces, the trip with no story, the person who should be interviewed while there's time.
  • Family onboarding — getting everyone set up, showing them what's already there, making the technology feel effortless.
  • An ongoing relationship. Your archivist gets to know your family, your gaps, your priorities — and designs your Lockbox engraving with you before Delivery Day.

The first conversation is free.

Thirty minutes with Geoff — about your family's memories, what the Archive Year includes, or just what feels possible. No pitch, no pressure.

The à la carte menu

When your family wants more.

Scanning, curation, and onboarding are already inside your $99 a month. Everything beyond it is à la carte — always a fixed price agreed before we begin, never hourly, never a surprise on the invoice.

Oral history interviews

A trained interviewer sits with the people who hold the stories — a grandparent, a parent, a great-aunt — and asks the questions that unlock them. Recorded, transcribed, and preserved in the archive.

Family films

A crafted short film from your archive — a life, a marriage, a family's year — edited by a human who knows the story, ready for an anniversary, a memorial, or a milestone birthday.

Printed heirloom books

The archive, or one thread of it, as a beautifully printed book — the photos and the stories in your family's own words. No QR codes, no app required, nothing that dies with a company.

Estate-scale preservation

Some families have more than boxes — a house of letters, military records, genealogy lines to research, an estate to document. Your archivist scopes it personally, at a fixed project price.

Memories coaching sessions

A guided conversation with a trained Memories Coach, built around a memory from your own archive. Meaning-making, not therapy — every "I feel" is yours, spoken by you, kept in your words.

Life after Delivery Day

Many families keep going — the subscription continues, fresh boxes come on demand, and the archive keeps growing on the Lockbox at home. Others return seasonally, after the holidays or a milestone.

How it works

From first call to

A free 30-minute conversation

We start with a call — no pitch, no pressure. You tell us about your family, what you're trying to preserve, and what you're most worried about losing. We listen, ask questions, and figure out together what makes sense.

A personal plan

Every family is different. Your archivist puts together a simple plan — what goes in the first boxes, what we'll work on first, and what to expect month by month. No jargon, no surprises.

The year — with you, not just for you

The boxes go back and forth, every original comes home, and you watch the archive grow in the app all year. You stay connected to the material, the stories, the people — never handed a finished product you don't recognize.

Delivery Day — and whatever comes next

At month twelve your Lockbox comes home — organized, annotated, engraved, ready to explore. Your family can browse, add to it, and share from it. And your archivist stays available for whatever comes next.
